Managing Partner Chris Crook reflects on 16 years of Nature.
When I started Nature 16 years back, I was only focused on making it to Christmas that year before throwing in the towel. I had no clients, a bunch of business cards, a single IKEA Flarke desk I’ve talked about way too many times now and, honestly, a shit load of fear about what on earth I’d done moving from a great job into the void of a new business.
But here we are, a long way from August 2006.
Nature now has a team of 50, a fair few awards and nominations under our belt, and just recently became the first insights agency in Australia and NZ with B Corp certification for balancing commitment to people and planet against profit.
We got here by keeping to the start-up values from the very early days with an amazing team of people. This means always having a generous mindset, treating each client as if they are our only client, constantly evolving, and by treating our people like people – not cogs in machine. I sense that now, 16 years later, we’re coming of age as a modern business. We’re understanding the broader role we play in society, and so, maybe my bold move all those years ago was worth it.
Nature would not be what it is today without the belief and commitment that all past and current team members, clients, partners and suppliers have shown. Thank you.
And the best thing? When you do something you love and are surrounded by great people, the sky’s the limit. Happy Birthday team Nature.
